Born in New Delhi, India, Mahima Singh is a ceramic artist currently based in Dublin, Ireland. She works primarily in porcelain, where all pots are wheel-thrown, turned, carved-into, inlayed and finally sanded to a pebble smooth finish. Mahima draws inspiration from lines everywhere - the silhouette of windows, shadows of tree branches, stacks of books, curves on a pot. The line informs and finds expression in her work through boldness or delicacy, sometimes still, sometimes fluid.
Mahima has worked as a production potter at Arran Street East, Dublin, Ireland as a teaching-artist at Clay Station, Bangalore, India and as a studio assistant at Pottery Northwest, Seattle, USA. Along with her own practice, Mahima teaches wheel-throwing at Throwing Shapes, Dublin.
